Trading

OctoSwap makes it easy to swap tokens on the Monad network, whether you're new to DeFi or a seasoned trader. Our trading interface is designed for speed, transparency, and user control—powered by advanced smart routing to get you the best price every time.

How to Make a Trade​

1. Connect Your Wallet​

Ensure your wallet is connected and set to the Monad network. (See Wallet & Network Guide if you haven't done this yet.)

2. Select Tokens to Swap​

Navigate to the swap page. Choose the token you want to trade ("From") and the token you want to receive ("To").

Import Custom Tokens

If your token isn't listed, use the "Import Token" feature and paste the contract address to search bar.

3. Enter Amount​

Type how much you want to swap. OctoSwap will automatically calculate how much you'll get in return, factoring in current prices and fees.

4. Review Swap Details​

Before confirming, review important info at the bottom of the interface, including:

  • The expected price and minimum output
  • Slippage tolerance
  • Price impact
  • The route/path your swap will take across pools

5. Customize Settings (Optional)​

Set Slippage Tolerance: Protect yourself from price swings by setting your preferred slippage limit.

Toggle MEV Protection: Turn on extra MEV protection in the settings tab if desired.

Adjust Gas Settings: You can set custom gas fees on your wallet if needed.

6. Confirm and Swap​

Click "Swap" and approve the transaction in your wallet. Wait for confirmation—the process is fast thanks to Monad's high throughput.

Smart Router: OctoSwap's smart router finds the best price across all pools, using split routes and multi-hop trades if needed.

MEV Protection: Protected from sandwich attacks by default; extra protection is available with a simple toggle.

Transparency: See every detail of your swap before you confirm, including the exact route, expected returns, and all fees.

Import Any Token: Easily trade even non-listed tokens by importing their contract address.

Swap History: Your past trades can be viewed in your wallet or block explorer for tracking.

Security Best Practices
  • Double-check token addresses when importing new tokens
  • Start with small trades if using a new token or bridge
  • Never approve transactions from unknown or suspicious sites
